Chemo Uncovered #4

5th of August 2022

After doing one of those online Facebook quizzes to see which superhero or super villain I am, I’m happy to announce that it wasn’t V (from V for Vendetta) or Vecna or even a Lord of the Rings ork, but my old time favourite: Deadpool ❤️
My plan on accumulating super powers in order to dress up in a tight suit is well underway.
Steps to become Deadpool:
-Get cancer – check
-Go for a cure and hope to get superpowers (I got myself a t-shirt saying that – it counts) – check
-Treatment that makes you look like a squashed burned raspberry or sundried tomato (take your sweet or savoury pick) – check
-Sarcastic humor and not taking anything seriously – hell yeah check!
-Breaking the 4th wall in story telling – Hello, do you even know me? Check!

So much therapy in the above lines…🙃

Still to do:
-Start experiments to see what superpowers I’ve gotten thus far, if any. I’ll keep you posted.
-Purchase a sweaty sticky suit, but I’m going to wait for the winter, because… comfort.

Episode stories that I need to write for my own comic book:
-Rushing to the ER this past week to get the rash looked at and getting stung by a wasp while trying to swat it out the open window…😳 I mean…
-My uterus missing the memo that I’m currently busy fighting cancer with chemo, so goes ahead and gives me period, cramps and all, anyway…🤬

Jokes aside, going to the ER for this rash last week was not fun. However, while I am definitely uncomfortable, don’t recognise myself in the mirror and currently coming up with some gory Halloween ideas, I have to hand it to my body: it’s putting up a fight and It’s rebelling. It doesn’t approve of whats happening and it is reacting (maybe over reacting, I guess it’s the greek drama queen side of it) and that definitely shows that it has not given up and that’s what I need to see! ❤️

@vancityreynolds if you see this please bring awareness to inflammatory breast cancer❤️
