Just a chemo newbie, with just 2 weeks on my back, but feeling the effects:

Tiredness being the first, that hits in waves, but can still be tackled with quick naps and provides for a long and good night’s sleep (something I have never been famous for, so putting it on the plus list)💪

Then the constant feeling as if I am getting over a fever🤒: cold sweats, despite the heatwave (so my timing is perfect since we are getting ready for 36 C this weekend!🥵) and I have general muscle, bone and joint aches (knees especially), but I am walking and using the bike a lot and that actually helps keep any aches away, so it motivates me to stay active!💪

Dizziness comes and goes, therefore I’m avoiding driving, but there is something quite special about sitting down and feeling as if you’re on a boat in a stormy sea and not having the sea sickness🙃 I have to mention here that I have strong antiemetics, so there is no nausea right now!✌️

And my hair is still with me (we had to shave it again cause it grew…😐) however I think most of my nose hair is gone, because I sniffle more🤧😅

Another thing that has gone is my taste… I can smell, I am starving and everything tastes bland. So my joy in food has been sacrificed first I guess😭 (it’s the one that hurts my heart and fat butt the most from the symptoms of course😁).

In any case, this is just the beginning. I know it will become more gory and grotesque as it goes along (probably more stomach wise, but I’ll spare the details for people here… we all know and have experience with double volcano situations when we’ve been sick: coming out both ends in hot spewing lava🤫). So for that I’ll just be like: volcano eruption and you’ll get it!😏

But for the Star Wars fans, I can leave you with the funny sound image of my tummy growling like Chewbacca; the rest of you can google it!😇

Next CT scan is at the end of August, so for now it will be chemo uncovered posts and I can answer questions and keep you (and mostly me) entertained☺️
