This is a bit of a sensitive subject because, while I am Agnostic, I do have many people in my life, family and friends, who are religious. So in advance, I don’t mean to offend anyone❤️

Here is my say when it comes to “thoughts and prayers”.

First, let me share my personal philosophy: I separate faith and religion.

Faith is something that is embedded in us humans. Whether it is faith in the patterns to predict the weather, our own hard work, luck, a supernatural entity, another person’s promise, ourselves… it doesn’t matter. Faith is there, it’s strong and more often than not has motivated us to many discoveries. And, most importantly, it is something very-very personal.

Religion however is human made. It is proven throughout history, it has been used politically, every single religion is guilty of war and massacre, it has been rewritten from different aspects and has served as guidelines in many situations of poverty and war and has often been born within revolution. Religion, would start out with the aim to unite, using faith, but sadly it has always ended up dividing.

And leaders have recognised the power of faith through religion and it has been exploited for greed and power. And we still see this happening: division instead of unison, these refugees and not the others (don’t get me started).

However, back to the initial plot: where one puts their faith is something very personal, a very individual decision and who are you and who am I, for us to tell each other where to place our faith or how to express it? If it brings comfort to (y)our soul, then believe in it all the way! I have faith that you are a kind person and that is why you are my friend. And if you send me positive vibes or you tell me you are praying for me, I will appreciate this form of faith from your personal choice with open arms and accept it completely. Because I believe that faith, in all shapes and forms and expressions unites and that is what my little agnostic and pacifist soul craves for this world one day. So let (y)our faith(s) unite us, let the differences start conversations and exchange information, and the thoughts and prayers bring only love❤️
