Chemo uncovered #11

Last week before my scheduled chemo, I did the blood test and the results showed that I was too weak to take another hit. So instead of last Wednesday, I’m chemo-ing today😐

While the delay was not something I wanted because it has shifted everything (scans, talks, next chemo) to a week later, it was something I needed because I had transformed into Gollum in sunlight (minus the chant of “my precious”)🙃

This pause made a difference: my body feels a little stronger, my fingers and toes started to get some feeling back in them, my eyes could open more and most importantly I could taste some things better than before!

It was a nice break, felt like a short vacation😅

And now I’m back in the necessary poopie puddle and I’m getting ready for whatever fate has in store for me this time… those super powers better start kicking in, because so far I’ve only been improving and updating my swearing and cursing abilities (in multiple languages too! Time to update my LinkedIn!)😎

While I don’t like this one bit, I’m grateful for two things:

A) I’m back on track and getting closer to the next steps which look more promising and I’m hopeful will get me to the desirable N.E.D.😁

B) It was uplifting to see that after the 21 days of a chemo round my body indeed started to heal and feel better. Every 21 days I’ve been getting another round of chemo, so it felt like a never ending spiraling descent into Mordor. It helps to know that once I’m done with chemo, while I won’t heal overnight, it will start getting better after the 21 day mark, slowly and steadily. Unless I catch a cold. If that happens, I will add a swear jar to my Christmas wish list🤭

Pic of me at today’s chemo wrapped in a wonderful scarf my friend sent me, that feels like a warm hug🥰
