No more chemotherapy

It’s November! And the new scan is in! And it shows that the tumors have shrunken to nothing, and only one tiny one (yes, the annoying one in the mediastinum) remains at a size of 6mm.

And that means…

Wait for it…

No more chemotherapy!!!🎊

This bald chick with sloth like energy was ready to jump for joy like a bouncy ball at this news! But I would run out of breath at just getting up in order to jump, so I just smiled wide at my very happy oncologist and imagined myself doing a Freddie Mercury tireless performance🎶

So now it’s just immunotherapy for the rest of my life, which will work as a suppressant to keep the tumor in check or even shrink it further (also planning voodoo, naked moon dancing and a sacrifice or two to the gods of Olympus to make it vanish, because, why not?) and scans every 3 months to keep an eye on everything. If something changes and it starts growing or spreading (it

won’t because I won’t let it), then we attack again!

But I have a good feeling this was it! And I’m going to stick TO that and WITH that!💪

Best part of all this? My taste buds should be back to normal for Christmas, which means I’m going to feast! And that is really all I can think about! Food tasting good again… And all the other side effects such as joint pain, fingers and toes being numb, dry skin, feeling as if I’m walking through sand and all that jazz, to subside. And it might be nice to have my hair grow back since my head is getting cold with the winter weather!👩‍🦲 Although, I made it through 5 months of chemo with my eyebrows going strong and that is important (it’s very hard to explain that chemo is torture when you have a surprised look constantly, because of no eyebrows).

So here I am, ready for this new reality, ready to return to a new normal, knowing that the difficult part is over and that, while there will probably be a few more bumps and holes in my path, they will be easier to overcome and I’m going to make it, because, well, I simply said I will. And

because I KNOW I will!

Just like I KNOW I’m going to eat my weight in all the food I’ve missed these past months!😋
