Did a thing a week ago.

I took my children out to lunch🤗
Three things happened:
First, I ate something I hadn’t prepared and my gut didn’t protest💪I have been careful with eating food that isn’t prepared at home since my tummy is still sensitive as my stomach and gut are still busy repairing their lining, that chemo stripped from them. Took the risk, worth it!😎
Second, I didn’t feel overwhelmed. Noisy spaces and too many people tend to drain me very quickly. When I started my chemo treatment I was already burned out. Crowds and noise at that point would aggressively become suffocating if they became too much. What is the turning point and when does it become too much? Surprise😒 Don’t know. One minute I’m OK and the next I’m having a panic attack. Can you tell the difference? No. My facial expression remains the same. I’m a creepy meme that screams internally. Or I might explode💥That’s how I experienced anxiety after a burnout. Being a prisoner in my own head. It’s very limiting. But ever since I have felt physically better after the chemo, it has boosted the rest of me too. Going out, without thinking about it and seeing eventually that I could do this, that I was in control, was liberating!😊
Who knew it took a cancer diagnosis and a bit of chemo to cure my burnout🤷‍♀️ (I channelled the sarcasm gods for this one😁)
And lastly, I took off my beanie🎊 For the past 6 months, my beanie has become my precious piece of clothing. Being bald, and also cold, called for it and I would take it off in the comfort of my home. Well, now that my hair seems to have grown overnight, I sat and ate comfortably with my beanie in my pocket. Maybe I expected looks or even surprise, but no one (that I could see) spared me a glance. I blended in. And that was beautiful. Just a mum with her children out having lunch. And telling them every now and then to sit properly and eat normally and remember their manners, otherwise I wouldn’t take them out again. Normal mama stuff💕

And since that day, my beanie has remained in my pocket😋

First pic of my hair as it was today 8th of January and second pic of the cute fluff I had on the 14th of December😁
